WinJi and BFH won 0.5M CHF to improve renewable assets by 5%

The Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse awards the research partners WinJi AG and the Swiss university BFH with a research project worth 0.5M CHF. The research aims to improve performance and predictability of renewable assets by developing innovative machine learning algorithms.

The involved researchers will develop two new software modules for condition-based predictive maintenance planning and accurate power production forecasting in renewable assets, and integrate them in the proven WinJi TruePower platform.

The first module reduces the operational cost and downtime by making use of condition monitoring data available in most modern wind turbines. The second module enables a more accurate planning of the power generation and thus a reduction of the market price risk.

The expected revenue increase amounts to 4 to 5%. The modules will be tested with an implementation partner before integration in the existing WinJi TruePower platform.

BFH is a Swiss university of applied sciences.

Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Agency. Its role is to promote science-based innovation in the interest of the economy and society in Switzerland.
